In the past, one of the more famous insults to which the Welsh took offence was that contained in the Encyclopaedia Britannica, an entry which encapsulated all the patronising indifference shown by the Victorians towards the Welsh identity--"for Wales - see England."

I'm doing some research to put together my Honors prospectus, and I'm definitely betraying my Welsh nationalist bias--when I read this sentence, I actually gasped out loud at this egregious dismissal of the Welsh identity.
